  • Great start, weird ending

    By Bianca_adlin <--- follow
Hazelwood is one of those authors that keeps you hook on from the first page. Her writing is witty and very easy to follow - which is dangerous because it makes you want to read the book in one sitting. It happened to me. The first half of the book was great. Loved how the storyline progressed and how the characters interacted with one another. They were all very charming, specifically Levi. They were a few plots going on and they were nicely resolved, except for the ex fiancée drama. It was always on her mind, it was a big part of the main character life and it was brush away so easily. I do understand that is how life goes, sometimes it is what is. But this is a book, I really needed that drama. As for the ending, it took a curve without breaks. I was very much confused since the drama in the storyline was like a walk in the park. Regular, not out of the ordinary and simple. So, when the bad guy took out a gun I was very much confused with the intensity. It went from 0 to 100 real quick and no one could prepare me for that. Overall, great start. Good middle. Weird ending. Nice spicy scenes.
  • Good but a lot of liberal bias

    By Iamstanding
This author is a good writer. No doubt. Entertaining for sure however her liberal bias makes it less of a good read. I don’t need to know about her distain for Elon Musk or Fox News. She should stick to the story and less about how unfair she feels life is to woman in the academic fields. Life can be unfair, we just continue to plug at it and overcome hurdles. The whiny nature in the book was a turn off. I am a woman and don’t think we need to be angry about things to make a difference. Still if you can put her liberal ways aside it is a good read.
  • Funny, gripping and heartwarming

Smart and strong women can still be vulnerable. And quirky. Loved this book. I’m considerably older than these characters and have read hundreds of romantic genres, but I could relate to this book and couldn’t put it down. More of this please!!!
  • Have you heard of editing?

No more Hazelwood for me, every book is the same with the lead characters changing their hair color and one quirky characteristic.
  • Good plot but slow

A little hard to get through.
