Why is this book a bestseller?

I found this book to be vapid. Maybe I went in expecting too much. It was suggested to me after reading Sally Rooney and now I can’t understand why. Rooneys books are deep and insightful and her characters speak to eternal questions we’ve been facing. This on the other hand are as light as they come.

What a great book! Vanessa is a free spirited travel blogger watching her sister’s infant baby Grace while Adrian is a strait laced controlled lawyer. After a hellish night of the baby crying uncontrollably, Adrian helps Vanessa and sparks instantly fly. They develop a friendship, based on the fact Vanessa says she doesn’t date (thinking she will develop ALS). But of course, feelings develop. Loved the back and forth showing their feelings while “thinking” the other doesn’t reciprocate those feelings. Loved the talk of medical chronic illnesses and how to affects not only the life of the person with it, but everyone around them. Overall loved 4.5/5⭐️

I laughed out loud and cried enough to have to ice my eyes before heading into work. Such a very worth while way to spend my time.

I rarely read romance novels anymore. They are all too predictable and never keep my attention. Not this one. I laughed and cried both sad and happy tears. Perfect.
