Wynter is a Demi-god, who has been raised by adoptive parents in the human realm, but on the eve of her 22nd birthday, receives a letter from her mother informing her that Guardians will be arriving on her birthday to take her to the god realm. The Guardians, Storm, Frost, Crispin, and Arc, all have distinct personalities and each bring something different to the equation. Lots of hurdles along the way, and ends on a soft cliffhanger. Wyn learns about her magic after destroying her home. She is provided with guardians to help her make her way back to her birth mother. Of course, it isn’t an easy trip and she learns to use her magic constructively.

This is a great story and the authors way of writing is very engaging. Loved this story and can’t wait to read the next

I love how different all the characters are in the book. Their dynamic is pretty neat as well. I also like how the main character starts off as pretty average and evolves into a beast of a character! If you are into the idea of sexy men guarding/training you, then this is definitely a book to read!

I liked Wyn from the beginning of this story. Her life hasn’t been bad, but it has been somewhat disappointing. Still, she’s hopeful. Almost immediately the action starts with her powers flaring to life. Luckily four Guardians appear, having been sent to protect her and bring her to the God realm to see her mother the Queen. This being the first book in Wynter’s tale there is a lot of set up of the mythology. And it is nothing like what I had read before, but it’s fun, the characters are witty but have real depth, and their chemistry is smoking hot. I think this read is well worth the investment in the rest of the story.

The book does start off slow-paced the FL - but the way the author describes what's going on with her life is pretty descriptive. I do think it's slow paced, but it's probably because of the series as a whole (maybe) that it has that type of pacing. I do find the Guardians super interesting too, but there isn't much build up with them so it does feel a bit forced. Overall the writing itself is good, just the relationships are on the weaker side. This story started off slowly, it took me a few chapters to get into it. I really didn’t connect with Wyn and she was slightly annoying but her character was well developed. Her sexy Guardians, OMG!! The Guardians each have their own powers and try to guide Wyn with her new found powers. There are creatures that aren’t happy with Wyn, will her Guardians be able to protect her to get her home? Why does her mom want her home?
