Deborah Jenkins pulls her coat around her for the short walk home in the pouring rain. But she never makes it home that night. And she is never seen again…

Four years later, an abandoned baby girl is found wrapped in dirty rags on a doorstep. An anonymous phone call urges the police to run a DNA test on the baby. But nobody is prepared for the results.

The newborn belongs to Deborah. She’s still alive...

THE GRIPPING THRILLER EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT – if you like Lisa Gardner, Robert Bryndza or Clare Mackintosh, you will absolutely love this. A completely unputdownable page-turner with an ending that will blow your mind.

**Each Gina Harte book can be read as part of the series or as a standalone**

This was a well written; fast pace read! I couldn’t put it down & read it in one non-stop session! (My Hubby kept trying to get me to put it down - but I couldn’t… Not even for an afternoon of garage sales! 😁 The characters are well constructed & the situations are believable. Excellent book.

I had a hard time putting this book down. It was a good read, a little lengthy in the extra details, like every little step the main character took, wiping their nose etc. and a good bit of grammatical errors. But all in all the story was great, I will definitely be reading more Carla Kovach books!

Let me say that I never write reviews but am compelled to because this one is a complete waste of the time you are alive. I skimmed this book and even that was a waste of time. Anyone who thinks this is good is probably in third grade. Then again I’m used to reading writing that’s George RR Martin-level caliber so maybe I’m asking too much from a free book. Not twisty, predictable, bad writing, flat characters, no meaningful relationships between them, overused phrases (“he sobbed” is written maybe close to 25 times). The characters are absolutely forgettable including the main character. Somehow her DV background and Debbie’s imprisonment are dead boring to read. This is advertised as having a twist. Where, pray tell?? This book is a prime example of telling (badly) and not showing. This reads like a timeline and none of the dramatics feel dramatic.

Loved the first book of this series. I could not put this book down. A little confusing at the start as it went back & forth but it’s yelling different characters stories that will eventually all come together. Can’t wait to read the second book!
