Description

A thrilling new holiday novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Glenn Beck.

BEFORE HE WAS FATHER CHRISTMAS…HE WAS SIMPLY A FATHER.

Thirteen-time #1 national bestselling author Glenn Beck realized years ago that somewhere along the way, his four children had become more focused on Santa than the meaning of Christmas. No matter how he tried, he could not redirect their attention away from presents and elves to the manger instead.

Glenn didn't want to be the Grinch who spoiled the magic of Kris Kringle, so he had to find a unique way to turn his kids back toward the true meaning of Christmas. He decided the best place to start was by first turning Santa himself back toward Christ.

That was when one of America’s best storytellers began to craft a tale that would change everything his kids thought they knew about Santa—the incredible story he went on to tell them that Christmas Eve spans over a thousand years and explains the meaning behind the immortality and generosity of the man named Claus.

The Immortal Nicholas has now been expanded and reimagined into this novel for adults; a novel full of drama, history, legend, and heart. From the snowy mountains of Western Asia, to the deserts of Egypt, to Yemen’s elusive frankincense-bearing boswellia trees, this is an epic tale that gives the legend of Santa a long overdue Christ-centered mission.

In this novel, Glenn Beck fundamentally transforms the figure that the world now mainly associates with shopping, all while staying true to the real story of the baby who brought redemption and salvation to the entire world.

I really had no interest in reading this book(who wants to read a book about Santa ) but I liked most of Glenn's other books so thought I would soldier through it. Boy was I wrong. I couldn't put it down. This book is almost genius how it takes Santa and Jesus and mixes them together without changing anything from the bible or what you think of about Santa Claus. This book has to become a full length blockbuster movie. My simple words don't do this book justice.

Once again Glenn Beck has put out another great book. This story will give you an entirely new look into the life of Jesus and the endless possibilities of what history could have looked like through the eyes of an outsider in the time of his birth. Full of emotional ups and downs, hopes and fears, this book is a great read for anyone looking to get lost in a familiar story full of new twists. Most of all this book will leave you with a fresh reminder of what the holiday season, and our lives, are really all about. I found this book quite a bit easier to read than the majority of Glenn's books and would highly recommend it to everyone.

This book is a must read during the Christmas season. With all the hustle and bustle, it's nice to read this book and remember the real reason why we celebrate the season. You will need the Kleenex by you, sobbed like a baby!

Glenn Beck has done it again! I have read almost everything he has written, and "The Immortal Nicholas" continues in his fine literary tradition of writing excellence. It grabs you from the first chapter, captivates your attention all the way to the last page, while carrying the timeless message of love, forgiveness, redemption, and faith. It is the Christmas story, but told in a beautiful and refreshing new way. You will love it. Thanks Glenn!

Immortal Nicholas takes the story back to where it belongs. Christmas was, is and will always be about the savior not the jolly old elf. Beck has recaptured the personal relationships between God and man, through a real picture of life's trials and pain. Nicholas exposes the real heart and pain of one who surrenders to the service of something greater than himself. It was real, refreshing and relevant to this culture's need to get over themselves.

What a beautiful story! It's truly one for the ages, as it explains the connection of Jesus and St. Nicholas - I'll be honest, I've never been a fan of Beck's politics or his political books, but his Christmas books demonstrate what an amazing storyteller he is - I love books of faith, of history, of Christmas - put them together, and you have a classic - no wonder it's been on the best seller list since its release! Warning to family members, expect to see this under your trees this year!

I enjoyed this twist on two stories that brings them together in a very interesting way. I liked the characters and was able to identify with some of them on a few levels. I thought I'd be bothered at the combining of fact and fiction but it turned out just fine.
