Description

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires comes a hilarious and terrifying haunted house story in a thoroughly contemporary setting: a furniture superstore.

Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring bookshelves, shattered Glans water goblets, and smashed Liripip wardrobes. Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking.

To unravel the mystery, three employees volunteer to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift. In the dead of the night, they’ll patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy the imagination.

I read the whole thing in a few hours so it’s short, but I honestly couldn’t put it down. I was interested to keep reading and to know “what happens next.” Great supernatural thriller

Stressful horror, multifaceted characters and an overall easy, fast read. Loved it but also glad to not be in the depths of the horrostor anymore.

I didn’t know how much I needed a horror story set in an IKEA before reading this. Can’t recommend enough. Grady Hendrix is my new go to horror writer after reading this and The Southern book clubs guide to Slaying Vampires.

It was great to have a horror sorry set in a massive Ikea-like store!, complete with ghosts, spatial displacement, and a whacked-out, CRAZY group of "furniture" pieces from the Orsk catalog!! A great idea and a fun ride!
  • Campy & Fun

This was fun, innovative, and so different than anything else I’ve read in the genre to date. I loved the play off of the fictitious IKEA. I had the added benefit of listening to the audiobook and I adored all of the ORSK transitions. So well done. If you’re looking for a campy, fun horror novel—look no further!
  • Sorry but a waste of time

I didn't care for this book at all. I wish I had spent the time I wasted reading quality literature. The only reason I finished it is because I always finish a book after starting it.
