In Washington, DC …

Metro PD detective John Sampson stands in a crater in the middle of a DC street, calling in the bomb squad. “Dispatch, this is Sampson. Contact the FBI and the ATF. We’ve got a suspected terrorist attack here.”

In Chapel Hill, NC …

Alex Cross searches the apartment of a missing psychology grad student—his own son Damon. Has following in his famous father’s footsteps made Damon a target?

From FBI headquarters, in police stations, on airplanes, and at murder scenes, the detectives track crimes committed hundreds of miles apart. It will take more than distance to weaken the partnership of Sampson & Cross.

This book was terrible. Written like a child. Stupid-plots. Patterson should get another ghost writer just awful
  • Mediocre at best

Two decent writers wrote stories about their favourite heroes who occasionally show up in each others books. Then they took all the pages. And shuffled them together to get one disjointed mediocre book.

Very interesting twists and turns. Bummed that one new character that might have a larger impact got killed.
  • Too much like Alex Cross to be its own series

Don’t get me wrong this was a great read. However because it’s Cross and Sampson I thought it would be more like this first. Building off their relationship from the very beginning. This felt more like a typical Alex Cross book. Although Sampson and Cross were working different cases, which they have done before in other Alex Cross books. Even Bree has worked separate cases in Alex Cross books. Not really sure why this is a separate series.

OK, I lean a little right, but I’m pretty mainstream but I couldn’t get through the first few chapters of this book… Oh my God all people of color are perfect and all conservatives white people are bad. I’m done with you James Patterson. This was so hard for me to swallow and I kept saying he’s gonna get better. it’s not gonna be like this through the whole book and it just got worse… whatever I’m done.
