This book contained so much history that was new to me. The descriptions of nature are very vivid. Her characters were well defined. I enjoyed the suspense.

This was a great book full of interesting characters. I love the historical setting where the characters intersect. I would definitely refer my friends to read!!

Riveting story, beautifully written characters you learn to love, and a few you truly hate. Fascinating, and sometimes brutal New York history weaving effortlessly through the plot. Reread the final pages immediately because I couldn't bear to say goodbye.
