This book is fascinating and scary at the same time. It is a great primer on sound economic policies and the implications for ignoring the rules of disciplined financial policies. The book was originally written in the 1940's and then revisited in the 1970's. The scary part is that the dangers and warning signs described herein are eerily similar to the US financial system of today. It is like reading an account of US fiscal policies over the last few years. The economic views described in the book are fiscally conservative, so readers with a conservative viewpoint will enjoy the text the most. However, I encourage all readers to consider the thought provoking ideas regardless of their fiscal viewpoints.
