Description

Jody never asked to become a vampire. But when she wakes up under an alley Dumpster with a badly burned arm, an aching back, superhuman strength, and a distinctly Nosferatuan thirst, she realizes the decision has been made for her.

Making the transition from the nine-to-five grind to an eternity of nocturnal prowlings is going to take some doing, however, and that's where C. Thomas Flood fits in. A would-be Kerouac from Incontinence, Indiana, Tommy (to his friends) is biding his time night-clerking and frozen-turkey bowling in a San Francisco Safeway. But all that changes when a beautiful undead redhead walks through the door...and proceeds to rock Tommy's life—and afterlife—in ways he never thought possible.

Which is pretty good. When I was reading Even Cowgirls Get the Blues people would come out of nowhere to tell me what a wonderful book that was and how much they enjoyed it. Well, Bloodsucking Fiends is to me what they were talking about. I find myself telling people to read it; however I won’t loan it out cause I know it’d never come back. Many reviewers describe the plot, characters, main scenes. I don’t want to spoil any of that for you. Buy it and enjoy.

Jody, a young girl with her whole life ahead of her, has suddenly and without warning, become a vampire. While she goes through her transition with no help from any other vampires, she learns by making mistakes and getting into trouble. She needs someone to help her do her daytime work, and C. Thomas Flood just falls into her lap a if he was destined to be with her. Tommy may not be the most sensible young man, but he does what he can with what he has to please Jody and accommodate her in any way she wants. This book has everything you'd ever need in a book, paranormal, intrigue, mystery, humor, thrill, and excitement. I wish I could praise this book more than I already have, I just absolutely love it! Definitely a 6/5. This is unlike any other vampire book out there. It's funny, witty, and Christopher Moore has an amazing dry sense of humor. I have loved every single one of his books, and this one was no exception. I follow Christopher Moore and look forward to all his upcoming books. He's very talented. I find myself reading his books over and over, and they never get old.

Very funny stuff, the first in a trilogy. I read this a number of years ago, this is Moore at his best.
