Hellbent on bringing the Empire to its knees, Mila finds herself battling everyone around her, including herself. She is a wildcat through and through - reacting and destroying with quickness and brutality, but even that isn't enough to quench the fires of vengeance. Unable to weaponize the monster from within, Mila is slowly recognizing that she must rely on her monster and enemy, Captain Asher Rawlings, but she will do so on her own terms.

Frost to dust is a continuation of flame to frost it can be considered a dark fantasy or a dark romance and if you have too many triggers I suggest you stay away, But if you love the dark fantasy genre this is a story this is the book for you. Mila‘s tale kept me enraptured from page to page. *Spoilers* You see Mila struggle who came out of the forest and being pit against a power she has never directly met before. Since she was never formally trained to be a priestess she tries to fight as if she’s still in the forest but she has to learn how to fight like a priestess. And at the end of this book the high priestess shows her what a true train priestess can do and what she can be capable of if she learned. I was riveted to the very last page my loudest complaint would be of how short this book is.. is enjoyable dark read and I suggest others to enjoy it as well. Fire and fury!! I know we are supposed to hate Captain Asher Rawlings but I just love him so much.. yes I know he chained Mila to him just to use her power against the rebels but there just something powerful about him...and I think the next book we are gonna see what more he can do ”One who’d been held in check too long by duty to his supervisors, starved for the hunt while pretending to be the perfect, obedient soldier.” And I do love Mila cause she not just giving up she still fighting and planning but right now she know her only chance to survive is with the captain… I love how feisty she is and there time together I just wish these two had a lot more alone time “wink”… I ready for the next one like right now please!!! Captain Archer finally figures out that Mila is a priestess. He tries to breaker several times. After show of extraordinary abilities we find out that she is a nymph. She’s uncontrollable. But General Tilcot wants her for himself, even though he was bonded to the Sacha who is the head priestess. I would definitely recommend this book I thoroughly enjoy reading it and I cannot wait for the last one or the next one to find out what happens next I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
  • A Good Second Book in a Great Series

This second book starts right where book one ended. Mila is a priestess of Tritan, something highly desired by the Caledonian army. I like Mila a lot. She is a strong, determined woman, and is not afraid to say so. Her owner is Captain Asher Rawlings, who is at first glance a very unlikeable, dominating man with no shred of human decency. I find myself wanting to know what happens next in this series, and this book surprised me with its ending. Wow. An interesting world, although a bit dark in it’s telling. This is my second time around with the Triton series and I am enjoying the differences. This is the original story that I never read and I must say it is just as exciting as the later version. Captain Asher Rawlings is an antihero type that makes me swoon with his dominant ways and handling of Mila. And Mila is no pushover either. She is a strong and fierce woman who gives Asher a run for his money. The battles between these two are epic due to being bound to each other through their own set of unique powers. Mila wants to be rid of Asher by any means necessary and this has caused her to make some rash decisions. There are also bigger forces at work here that will directly impact them both with dire consequences. The differences between each series has made them a pleasure for me to read. I loved the second version of this series when it was released a couple of years ago, so I was thrilled to hear she was releasing the original. Ms. Danvers has written two exceptional series. Each one is a sci-fi fantasy lovers dream. I am looking forward to the next book with great anticipation. I highly recommend reading either versions of The Last Tritan. Asher and Mila’s story will take you on a fantastic journey in a unique world full of danger, magic, and a few surprises along the way. I received an ARC through BookSprout and this is my honest review.
  • LOVE Captain Asher & the couple’s chemistry

3.5 Stars This is book two in this series (must be read in order) and though it is almost double the length of book one I almost feel like more happened in book one, in terms of world-building, character establishment and just plain events. Now, I did absolutely love the chemistry between the captain and Mila and their steamy scenes. Like, a ton. Captain Asher's charisma is extremely evident every time he is on the page and I am totally here for it! There is a quite a bit of talk and description of the energies/powers of Mila and the elites and the priestesses (understandable, since it is what the whole plot is based around) and I have to say two books in I still don't understand any of it or how it works or what is actually happening when that stuff is going on. I mean, I get the gist of it but definitely not the specifics. And as such, I don't really care about it and just want to get past the descriptions of it to more action and dialogue (and ok, yes, steam lol). The book ends on a kind-of, sort-of cliffhanger, and though I most definitely want to see what happens next and how things will progress with Asher and Mila, I'm not dying for it like you can be with some cliffhangers either.

This is the second book in the Tritan series and Oh my Asher has met his match. Now that Asher has Mila and her powers tied to him, he thinks he has everything under control; however, as he tries to use her powers something dangerous happens and it changes everything. As for Mila, she is trying to come to terms with her loss of freedom and now being tied to her enemy; however, she will not make it easy on Asher. In other words she will not heel easily! The ending left me somewhat disappointed as I did not want this book to end. So not patiently waiting for the next book in this series. Loved it! I have received this ARC via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
