Interview with a Vampire in a nutshell. Messy with concept of Faith/Beliefs. A lot of misogynistic text. Author favors detailed scenes of female death and focuses on beautiful pubescent looking characters. It was a struggle and I never found a moment of enjoyment reading it. I dont understand why someone would give this a good review.

My actual faith has been tested all my life with the Almighty sometimes and I was thinking “Am I the only one?”. And when I finally had the courage to read such a wonderfully long story I felt like the Lord himself sent me to get the book from the library 📚 I just felt what Gabriel went through in his teen years asking myself “What am I ?” “Who am I ?” Why am I hear if I was/am a sin of this Godly earth Aaron might have been a jerk to Gabe but they came together in the most beautiful way…. First off Gabe saved Aaron’s cousins life and then Gabe kept Aaron’s “meetings”with the blacksmith a secret. Also what Aaron went through as a teen? Horrible!! 1.Step father a drunk punk 2.Step father beat his girlfriend to death 💀 (RIP)and Aaron half to death because she was poor and he, a noble son. And then he gets sent to San Michan to be a Silver Saint and even though he couldn’t marry and have kids (for fear of making more abominations-blood thirsty vampires- like them for the most part) he found love and I think God should be able to look the other way for it, because he served faithfully his entire life in the Silver Order. Even though Master Greyhand couldn’t approve of them, because of I am quite sure he was happy someone was able to find to 💕

Utter masterpiece. A brilliant book about faith and love and how to regain your faith after losing it. About life and friendship and making a family of your own choosing. I love Jay’s writing and I’ve loved all of his books but there was just something about this one that I can’t quite put into words that just resonated with my soul. Please read this book, give it a chance and you will see. It’s so much more than “just a vampire book”.
