Awesome story as always. I love this series. I stumbled on this author and what a great happy accident.
  • Difficult child abuse theme handled in fiction setting

All the men and women in Torpedo Ink suffered horrendous childhood abuse and this series continues to inform us of the long lasting trauma that follows them into their adult relationships. It is distressing for readers, like me, who could never imagine such abuse. Nonetheless if you can handle the nightmare inducing flashbacks and their default to violence whenever threatened, there is a strong redemption theme which is extremely appealing. The female lead here is less interesting to me than the women appearing in previous titles in this series. She is a wealthy woman who has not developed any strong personality, nor strength of character. The tempo is nonstop and Ms. Feehan’s writing style keeps you engaged at every level.
  • Very Hot

This is book is hot, hot, HOT. And it’s the perfect formula of damsel in distress, knight in leather jacket, and protective family wolf pack. This is one of my favorite books of all time. (And that’s saying a lot!). That being said, it would be nice if 1/3 of the book wasn’t brutal, bloody, torture-murder scenes. Hint: women who read romance novels are usually sensitive and NOT looking for bloody brutality. Come on Christine... love your books and characters and you’re a fantastic writer. But how about giving us a little less of the twisted torture scenes?
