Does the murder have something to do with Aunt Delphine? Was she the intended victim? With her new baby daughter in tow, Maggie struggles to find the answers. In the process she learns more about Laurent’s family—and stumbles across a terrible secret that would tempt anybody to commit murder.

Can Maggie find the murderer without destroying the Dernier family name? And can she do it before the killer catches her in a dark, lonely alleyway in the Latin Quarter?

Reviews

  • Less satisfying as the series continues

I was excited to run into this mystery series, and enjoyed the first few books immensely. The characters have been richly drawn and interesting and the plots clever. However, with this mystery, I am sorry to say that the stories are starting to become more formulaic and unbelievable, and the characters thinner and less convincing as the author continues the series. In this, my most recent read, the characters’s actions and reactions are becoming frankly unbelievable. I am disappointed, and regretting buying ahead for more.
  • Very thrilling with many twists and turns!

This novel was there very enjoyable with intrigue and revenge that lead back to the past and challenged our young mother wife and friend to unravel. It was exciting and often hard to put down. The only weak spot, for me, was one physical feat that left me wondering if it was possible. Other than that it was totally enjoyable!
